In ‘Familiar Perspectives’, I researched the potential influence I could have on the daily lives of the people around me and strangers. During this process based project, I asked different people from different social backgrounds to complete certain tasks that were often in contrast of their environment. Within this process, I wanted to create an intimate moment for the participant and their surroundings with the aim of ultimately have them requestion the concept of what is socially approved behaviour and what is not.
During my search I was often surprised and impressed by the people I involved in these performances and how far they were willing to step out of their comfort zones. The final work is a publication that was created with graphic designer Ilja Glaap which gives the interviewer an insight on the timeline and progress in this investigation about etiquette in social behaviour.
